Life in OKC

Lots of people have been asking me how things are going now that we have been in Edmond for a month now and to be honest....I'm having a hard time. Erik's job is great and I know it was a good move for our family BUT at the same time leaving friends is SOOOO hard. I know there are young moms here but I can't seem to find them. It's not like Dallas where you go to any chick fil a or Willow Bend play area and there are a million moms and kids. We've been trying churches but still haven't found a group of young marrieds in our life stage...we must be doing something wrong or else everyone is hiding from us:) If Jack wasn't going to MDO twice a week I think we'd all be going stir crazy. We've been going to the mall play area so much Jack crawls back into the stroller when we go now! The boy needs someone other than his momma to play with!!!

On a much happier note---Jacob is SUCH A WONDERFUL BABY. He's sensitive in every way...his stomach, his skin, and his feelings are all so sensitive. But my goodness he is happy and laid back. He's been sleeping from 8pm to 7am since we moved here about a month ago and we have to wake him up at 7am to eat. He's huge, too! He is wearing 6-9 month clothes and even wore a 12 month outfit a few days ago:) Finally got a chunky baby! He's going to be wearing the same size as Jack soon. I'm finally getting to experience a chubby, snuggly momma's boy:)

Jack was doing great in his big boy bed for the few weeks and now we find him asleep either in his doorway or on top of or under the entry rug! WHAT?!? Such a strange thing....who wants to sleep on tile and not a bed???? I included some pictures to show this interesting sleep pattern.

zzzz...
Maybe he can just use the entry rug as his new nap mat. Probably wouldn't fit in his backpack.

oh and again...zzz... (don't worry I always move him to his bed)

We went to a local park on Saturday followed by lunch at which wich.

Happy Jacob. 9 month outfit by the way. Can you tell I'm excited to finally have a kid with something to squeeze?? :)

You have such a cute family! Jacob is definitely a chunky monkey :-) Lee is the same way...he's been wearing 9-12 month clothes since he was about 4 months old! It's great having a snuggly boy to squeeze on :-)

I understand how it is moving so far from everyone you know. It is hard to find friends and a church that makes you feel comfortable and makes you feel at home again. I moved to San Antonio 2 years ago and I started feeling like this place was home just a few months ago. The story of Jack's sleeping habits is so cute and funny. The pictures are great. They make for great stories when he grows up.

We miss seeing you guys so much! It was pretty hard when we moved, too, but hang in there! Keep praying. God will provide some amazing friends for you!
Also, Collin went through a phase where we kept finding him asleep on the floor in front of our door or in the playroom, or in the hallway! It only lasted a few weeks, and now he loves his bed so much that he never wants to sleep in our room! Hope all is well. Your family is beautiful (or should I say handsome)!
