Welcomed change

Since I don't see 93% of my family/friends on a regular basis....I just thought you should know I had my hair cut 8 inches last week. I've had long hair my whole life and decided for a welcomed change. I'm sure I'll grow it back because short hair gives me 'fat face' (girls you know what I mean) but for now I'm enjoying the low maintenance of short hair. Kind of fun.

Sesame Street Live

I took Jack on a mommy/son date to see "Sesame Stweet Wive" as Jack says it:) He had such a great time spending time just he and mommy. He got to sit on the first row AND eat cotton candy! Then we met daddy for lunch and Jack even got to go in to daddy's office for the first time!

What a fun day!

"Dawas"

We had to make an unexpected trip down to Dallas for a semi-family emergency and praise God everything is fine. Long story short is that my mom had a brain tumor removed in 1984 and she wasn't taking any anti-seizure medication for the scar tissue and well, she had a seizure. The neurologist put her on a modern anti-seizure med and so hopefully it won't happen again. One good thing about the trip was that we got see family but the bad part was that Erik and I had to postpone our getaway to the first of May. Jack calls Dallas "Dawas" hence the title of the post. He LOVES "Dawas" and asks to go about every week!

Before and After

Prior to moving to Edmond I would not have considered myself an 'artsy' or 'creative' or 'decorator' type person at all. And I'm still not...but I'm at least having fun trying. Buying an older home has brought out the HGTV and DIY in me.

Conversations with Jack

The other day as I went to get Jack up in the morning the first thing he said was "Mommy will you be my best friend"?

(as Jack is playing with his Thomas trains)
me- "Where are your trains going?"
Jack- "Oh. They're going to On the Border to eat 'chinchiladas' and gauc."
It's obvious what his favorite food genre is:)

(I was on my way out the door to go running)
Jack- "Mommy where you going?"
me- "I'm going on a quick run"
Jack- "Nooooo you can't!"
me- "Why not?"
Jack- "Because you have to stay in the kitchen"
me- "Oh my. Your poor wife."
