Florida

We made it to Sandestin and back! The trip started off a little rocky when our flight was delayed due to mechanical problems, then when we finally landed in Ft. Walton Beach Jack threw up all over Erik and me, a tropical storm/depression headed toward the Emerald Coast, and to top it off I dropped our camera (on accident) into the bay after breakfast the first morning we were there. Luckily I have the most patient husband in the world who took a $60 cab ride to the nearest Best Buy to buy us a new camera. So courtesy of my wonderful husband...here are a few pictures of our first family vacation!

I think I've mentioned before that Jack LOVES people (especially strangers)....we always say it's like he's campaigning for the 2044 Presidential election or something...this picture is just ONE of the tourists he lured in with his smile

So happy to be home!

Action Jackson

making a break for the stairs
he just thought he escaped me!
In case you were wondering where our loyalty lies this football season.
Heading toward the kitchen during a timeout.
He must have been REALLY excited to go to church and see all his friends...

Hurricane Fay

Normally I'm no Pete Delkus but I have been particularly interested in the weather this week because of course there's a tropical storm, soon to be hurricane Fay, headed right toward the coast of Florida. Oddly enough, we fly out on Wednesday to none other than FLORIDA for our first vacation as a family of 3. I'm wondering if this is actually going to happen given the storm's current trajectory. HOPEFULLY the storm passes quickly or changes its path but if not, we'll just have to improvise. Here are few pictures of where we are supposed to be later this week...we may have to settle for looking at pictures of the beach while floating in our neighborhood pool...uggghhhh...

Oh how I long for the Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf Resort and Spa

Olson-Canon Reunion

We finally got our camera back!!! Oh how I've missed my Canon. We took Jack to the mall to play tonight and since we always go to the Willow Bend play area the one at Stonebriar was something new for him to explore. Enjoy the pics!

The matching Olson double-chins!
So Jack really really really loves people....especially strangers...in fact at play areas he likes the people more than the play ground...he usually walks right up to people and rests on their legs while he looks up smiling!!!! Outgoing maybe???
Erik taught him how to go down stairs on his bottom.
since we have more teeth now Jack wanted to try my Sonic Care...he didn't really like the vibrating bristles...a little much for 4 teeth I think
Jack always smiles with dad (excuse Erik's hair...he actually thought the mohawk looked "cool")
Jack loves to drive his stroller!
Running through the food court
Practicing his climbing skills.

Walking

A few things about Jack at 10 months

Since I STILL have not gotten my camera back and apparently I'm video uploading illiterate....I will just write a few things that Jack is doing right now.

Favorite Foods: Grilled Chicken, black beans (especially the black bean dip from Gloria's), turkey, bread, cucumber, grilled salmon, cheese, and tortillas.

# of Teeth: 4

Recognizable Vocabulary: Dada, WhaDada (Where's Dada), Quack Quack, Hey or Hi

Favorite rooms in the house to explore: Guest Room, Bathrooms (fascinated by toilet bowl water so now that he's walking independently we have to make sure all the doors are closed)

Hand gestures: None- He walks all over the house but still will not wave, clap, or signal "all done"....

Favorite Summer Activity: Definitely Swimming...he goes under, kicks his legs and moves his arms, and loves being tossed in the water (scares me to death sometimes)

First Family Vacation: Hilton Sandestin Resort here we come next week! We are taking Jack's favorite nanny, Erik's younger sister Krystal, to hang out with him so Erik and I can have a few dates and relax a little.

*Tonight I'm going to try and master the video tool again....I've got to let yall see this kid walk! It's pretty funny:)

Floaters

You probably know by the title of this post where this story is going....but I'll tell it anyway:) Tonight it was bathtime for Snack Pack and we put him in our bathtub because there's more room and he likes it better. I thought he was acting way too calm for bathtime so I looked down and there were 3 "floaters"!!! We've always heard that boys tend to do this on occasion but never did I really think that Jack would actually go #2 in my bathtub! It was so gross. I called Erik in to assist in the cleanup and the first thing he said was "Way to go, man, those are some good poops"!!! Jack was grinning from ear to ear like he'd done a great thing....yucky boys:) I wasn't sad that our camera is broken for this occasion.

The joys of boys.
