Da-Da and Crawling

Today was a big day for Mr. Jack! It was National Admin Appreciation Day (according to Erik) so we met Erik and his office assistants for lunch and Jack decided he would show off for the ladies and say "da-da" and "dad" for the first time!!! When we got home he decided to go from the sitting position to a full out CRAWL! He doesn't last very long when crawling but today was the first time he actually had forward progress when on all fours. We were thinking he may skip crawling because he usually is not the least bit interested in being on all fours...he prefers to be walking with Erik or I holding his hands. I guess it's just quicker and he can get around faster. He isn't standing on his own yet but we feel like it is coming soon since he is pulling up toys, the couch, our knees, etc...we are going to be lowering his crib so he can't climb out! He is a very...we'll say... "active" little boy who is keeping his mommy on her toes!
I don't know how to upload videos yet but as soon as I have time to figure it out I'll post the crawling. Hope everyone is having an excellent week!

6 1/2 months and counting

Daddy dressed me and did my hair
the closest I came to getting a picture of his two bottom teeth
gotta love the baby cross eyes with the tongue out...they grow out of that, right??
his first experience with swinging a bat

mommy dressed me and daddy did my hair...I think he likes the mohawk

I wanted to post a few pictures of Jack from last weekend. He went to Madison's birthday party and had such a fun time! In one of the pictures you can almost see his two bottom teeth. The top teeth are working their way in and Jack is having a harder time with the top ones. I think we bought every teething remedy possible. Any 'top teeth' teething suggestions?

6 months and 2 teeth later...

a few minutes old
6 months old

It is very hard to believe that Jack is already 6 months old. The past few weeks have been monumental for Jack. He said "momma", got 2 bottom teeth, eaten baby food, drank juice from his sippy cup, walked all over the house in his walker, demolished several biter biscuits, and saw Dr. G for his 6 month well-check.

I love waking up each day with the excitement what Jack might decide to do today! His weight is still around the 50th% but his height went from the 25th-50th% to 80th% in the last 2 months. He definitely hit a growth spurt!

Here is a typical day for Jack.

7:00am wake up, eat, play

9:00am nap

11:00am wake up, eat, play

1:00pm nap

3 or 3:30pm wake up, eat, play

6:00pm eat, bath

7-7:30pm GOODNIGHT:)
