Jacob's first week home

Now that we have the whole feeding issue worked out, Jacob is a dream! Of course he fusses during the usual times...hungry, tired, dirty diaper, cold...but other than that he is one happy camper. Here are some pictures from his first week at home.

First stroll in the double wide

Jack loves to sit right next to whoever is feeding Jacob

Love his face!!!!

Bittersweet.

We have had to wait several weeks to share this news but finally we can tell everyone that we are moving to Edmond, Oklahoma. Erik accepted a job in Oklahoma City a few weeks ago and today was his first day. LUCKILY his boss is a big family guy and is letting him do the first few weeks here in Dallas so he can be with us as long as possible before he has to head up there. Erik had been open to transition and this job fell into his lap and he is very excited about this career opportunity. It's taking a lot of patience and trust given the not so great timing of having a newborn and moving. I will be here until we sell our house and Erik will commute home on the weekends. Hopefully we sell soon so that I don't have to be a single parent for very long:( We are very sad to leave friends but I wouldn't be surprised if we landed back in Dallas after a few years! Be praying for us as this is definitely interesting timing to say the least.

Whew!

After a whirlwind of a weekend we are finally settling into a routine at home. Jacob had a rough go of it this weekend because he would get such a tummy ache after he would nurse. Then after seeing how awful his tummy hurt after he ate we decided to try Enfamil Lipil and he still was getting upset after feedings. I should have known something was wrong since he was projectile spitting up constantly. Then we switched to Enfamil GentleEase with low lactose and he is finally doing GREAT! He hasn't even spit up ONCE since switching him!!! Dr. G says it's probably a lactose intolerance which made me feel so bad that I tried to force him to nurse....I just thought it was something I was eating. But after some trial and error we finally found a way to fill his tummy without making his abdomen twist in knots! Anyway, now we finally have a happy, full baby and settling in to our 3 hr feed, waketime, sleep schedule.

* big news from the Olson's in the next post*

Jacob Andrew Olson

Jacob was born at 12:25 pm yesterday, April 20th. He weighed 6lbs 12oz and was 19 1/4 inches long. He looks a lot like Jack did when he was born but with darker, thicker hair. Here are more pictures...

New Posts Below!!!

Bay-Ball!

We took Jack to his first "bay-ball" (baseball) game yesterday and he LOVED it! We wanted to take him to a Frisco Roughrider's game before Jacob got here and so we took him to the home opener. It was great weather and Jack had a good time eating ballpark food, playing with his buddy Holice, running around in the outfield, and swimming...YES swimming. Our tickets were the pool tickets in right field and luckily the water was warm so we let Jack get into his trunks and splash around before we went home!

Waiting to go into the pool area

Jack had so much fun running around with Holice

Jack quickly figured the best part of the ballpark experience. The food.

When we first walked into the park he was just taking it all in. So much respect for the baseball diamond!
Pool time!

39 weeks

Say CHEESE!

Jack NEVER smiles for a camera. A few days ago I decided to try and teach him cheese one more time and he actually tried to cooperate!

MDO Mother's Tea

Since Jack's MDO teacher is having a baby next week his class had their "Mother's Tea" a little early this year. We had a great time playing with the other kiddos in his class and meeting the other mommies. Jack had a hard time at the beginning of the year but now he loves "cool" (school) and has made lots of friends. His best buddy in his class is Colt. They high five good bye every week:)

Looking suspicious...

I caught him throwing the ball against the wall with himself.

Jack's "Eather" Weekend

We had a great Easter weekend this year celebrating our Risen Lord. Jack had the cutest little lisp when he pronounced Easter...he would say "Eather"! We were constantly telling Jack that 'Jesus is Alive' and it was fun to hear him say "Jesus awive":) Jack had a busy weekend of birthday parties and family time. Since I can't travel we had some family come over to our house for lunch which meant that I got to be the 9 month pregnant hostess! I probably overdid it and landed myself in my doctor's office today to make sure everything is good and so far we are still on for Monday, the 20th!
Here are some pictures from our weekend! And YES---Jack has a busted lip. He was playing on a riding toy in our driveway and flew over the steering wheel onto his face. We thought he broke his nose but his lip ended up getting the worst of it! And he only cried because I made him come inside to clean up his lip and wouldn't let him back outside for a few minutes! After one broken arm a busted lip and bruised nose doesn't seem that bad....at least there's no cast!

Basketball in one hand and a cheetoh in the other...
Easter morning...a little confused that all this fun stuff was for him

Grana brought him a bunch of goodies including this basketball hoop which he loved

Sorry, Erik. Had to post this one!

Kate's birthday party was an egg hunt! Jack had so much fun!

Jack realized there was something in each one by shaking them!
Jack looks so short compared to Erik

Getting the idea....

Same old Same old

Another OB appointment yesterday and once again this baby is somewhere up in Sherman and heading north toward Oklahoma. No dilating...no contractions...no nothing. This is exactly how Jack was and why he ultimately was delivered by c section. I have great pregnancies but when it comes time to actually birth the baby my body doesn't cooperate. This time I'm thankful that I'm not progressing at all considering we already have the c section scheduled on April 20th at noon. Erik, Jack, and I are so excited to meet Jacob!

BIBLE

This morning Jack said the word "bible" for the first time and we were so excited! For a few weeks now he says "church" and "Jesus" when he sees our church building but he has never said the word "bible". Some new words are just sweeter than others:) One other word that was special this week was "brubber" (brother)...he doesn't fully understand what that means YET but he will shortly! Here is what Jack has been up to lately...

He loves pushing Sydney's stroller...practicing for brotherhood
Swinging like a big boy at Sydney's birthday party

At Blake's birthday party. Leave it to Jack to NOT be smiling!

Outside the food court at Willow Bend they put up this huge Cowboys sign. Jack was in awe! He kept saying "bayball" (wrong sport, but close).

He got a little confused with Baylor and the Cowboys and he started doing 'sic em cowboys'! That sounds alright with us:)
