Updates...

THANK YOU to everyone who prayed for Jack's appointment with the ped orthopedic surgeon. Dr. Herndon was not concerned about Jack's leg length discrepancy...he said the ligaments in his left leg are looser and it is something genetic but nothing we need to worry about at this point. We'll go back in 9 months to make sure things still look good but we are so thankful/relieved for this news!
Jack also had his first day of MDO today. He is on the waiting list at just about every church in town and a friend from Baylor who lives here recommended a small church that has a summer MDO program with openings. They let me enroll Jack for the remainder of the summer and if we don't get in anywhere else for the fall then he will be attending the Westwood Church of Christ MDO in the fall as well. I picked him up today and I wasn't surprised when the teacher said "he talks so well and has an unbelievable vocabulary...we were just thinging of things for him to say because we thought it was so funny"...great...my kid was the entertainment side show for today!
This past weekend Erik's parents came down from Lincoln NE for a quick visit. We had so much fun and ate some great food! They also brought the boys plenty of cool new toys to play with! Thanks Nana and Grandpa!

Jack was ready for his first day at "school"! (Thanks for the lunchbox, Aunt Jill! I realize it was a gift for Jacob but Jack's is still packed in the garage somewhere!)
Sometimes the big boy bed doesn't go so well and so we have to put a gate up in his door. He was so tired he fell asleep pouting right inside the gate!

Sweet brothers.

Waving hello to all his friends in Texas!

With Nana and Grandpa before church. Jacob is growing so fast.

We went to a great restaraunt on the lake with Baylor friends Lizzie and Tim...great recommendation...Jack loved the lighthouse and sailboats!

Big Boy

I took Jacob to our new pediatrician yesterday for his 2 month well check and I was very pleased with Doctor K. We loved Dr. G in Frisco and I just knew noone would ever live up to him but I think this guy is going to be great! He's also a very...err...how do I say it... "nice looking" person:) Don't worry I confessed that to Erik haha. Anway, Jacob is one growing boy! I thought it would take Jacob longer than 2 months to catch up to his peers but he is 12 lbs 9oz 23 inches long putting him in the 50-75% in weight and height! The boy has almost double his birth weight! Dr. K was holding him and he said "let me give you back your fat baby" which I took as a major compliment! The shots weren't so bad either. Jacob cried for about 4 seconds and then he was asleep. *Oh yea, funny funny....Jack for some reason called Dr. G "uncle doctor" so of course yesterday the new pediatrician comes in to meet us and Jack yells "hiiiii uncle doctor"....I quickly had to try and explain...I guess Jack felt comfortable with Dr. K and so he is our new uncle doctor. Jack was saying "uncle doctor's seat...uncle doctor's toy...uncle doctor's hair...uncle doctor's shirt" the ENTIRE time Dr. K was in our exam room. Jack's mouth is constantly moving.

One a side note we have been concerned for a few months about Jack because his left leg is obviously longer than his right let and the pediatrician looked at him yesterday and said we definitely need to get this taken care of. We luckily got into a great pediatric orthopedist on Tuesday afternoon for a consult so we would appreciate your prayers for Jack. I'm scared to find out what action needs to be taken because usually these things involve leg bones/hip problems and are very painful to correct.

Watch out Jack...you brother is going to be bigger than you soon!!!!

"Happy Fardsday Daddy"

That is exactly what cute little Jack sounded everytime he told Erik happy father's day..."happy fardsday"! We celebrated by getting Erik some NY strip steak to have for dinner tonight among the few little gifts we gave him this morning which consisted of linen shorts, swedish fish (the candy), beef jerky (classy eh?), and a few cards. We are saving up for a big gift in the future... he wants an extra large Big Green Egg for smoking meat so we are going small in hopes of getting him his egg sometime soon! Anyway, we visited a church we really like today and met several people in our "life stage". Lots of young professionals/young families/stay at home moms so hopefully my friend count will go up from 5 soon! (I'm counting the guy that came over to fix our refrigerator in that total of 5 by the way) We had a great Father's Day and we just thankful to be able to spend it with our dad.
This has been a tough day for me since my dad passed away 7 years ago yesterday right before Father's Day weekend. But now that I have such a wonderful husband who is an excellent father it distracts me from being sad because I'm so thankful for the kind of father Erik is to Jack and Jacob. Enjoy the pictures!
Father's day picture in their pj's
Erik's father's day dinner (the turkey dogs are for Jack, or course, our son who refuses to eat red meat)

Jacob was really excited for his first Father's Day

Jack is fearless in the water...he says "tomach tomach" because he wants to go down the slide head first on his stomach

Oh my precious happy baby

Father/son pool time...Erik's a little big for the blow up pool

I love his smile...can't get enough...

"hook em bebe"

*This is an old picture...but the cutest one of Jack supporting the horns*
"Hook em bebe" is one of my favorite things Jack says especially now being in Sooner country. I don't think it is coincidence that right after we moved to Sooner nation the LONGHORNS made it to yet another baseball national championship series in Omaha. 2 homeruns in the 9th including a walk off to beat Arizona State! Wow. We may have to put on some burnt orange today and go to a crowded place :)

Temporary Housing

I am posting some pictures of the house Erik found for us to lease until we find our permanent house. He did a great job finding this house BUT he didn't realize that the house is basically in a retirement community with zero lot lines! We don't even have to mow our own yard! Pretty hilarious. Good thing Jack loves grandparents:) Our garage is jam packed with stuff because we really only unloaded the necesseties to make our next move as easy as possible so if our house seems bare, it's because I'm not motivated to decorate.

"Jacob, are you excited to be with dad?"

The garage definitely doesn't look like that now. I can barely fit my seqouia in the garage!

The goggles made it to Jacob's face during bathtime last night. He is getting so big! He is wearing some 6 month outfits and is in size 2 diapers already! I can't believe he was ever 6 lbs.

Yay for Jack and his big boy bed!

Jack with Mr. Steve helping the movers unload the truck.

Jacob is obviously excited to be with his dad again:)

Last morning in the house in Frisco. Jack had to eat a pop tart because we had literally nothing left in our kitchen.

Hey brother, we're gonna be best buds in Oklahoma.

Cannot get enough of this smiling face:)

All together now...

We are finally settled (temporarily) in Edmond. The movers got here yesterday with all our stuff and we left most of it unpacked in the garage in anticipation of another move once we find a house. Jack was SO sad to leave Texas. We thought he wouldn't understand what was going on but oh boy were we wrong! He cried almost the whole way here and said "bye bye house...bye bye Kenzie...bye bye church...bye bye JeremyCourt (he combines my brother Jeremy and his girlfriend Courtney's name to get JeremyCourt)...bye bye Home Depot...bye bye Kenziepoo". It was so sad. We were finally able to get Jacob into his crib and Jack into his big boy bed. We were nervous about him sleeping in the full size bed but we told him not to get up unless we help him and he has stayed put all night praise Jesus!
Jack's vocabulary has just multiplied times 100 since we got here. He was already talking a lot but my goodness this boy will not be quiet! He repeats everything and wants to know what everything is! I will have to make a separate post about his hilarious talking soon.
Another thing that Jack has started doing since we got here is saying "hookem horns" while he tries to make the longhorn sign with his fingers. Weird since we just moved to a sea of red with all the Sooner fans around...Jack makes me proud! He also says "go bears" but hookem horns is a little more abrasive in these parts. Perfect timing also because the horns have made it to yet another college world series. Way to go Augie.

As expected...10-7

Well just as I suspected....the last night I have the boys by myself Jacob slept 10pm - 7am! Erik is the luckiest dad ever! He got to completely skip helping with the overnight feedings! Ugh.
Now we're off to Oklahoma....

Goodbye Frisco Hello Edmond

Today was our last full day in our house. Good thing I'm so busy with the boys or else it might have been a little emotional for me. Erik and I moved into this house 3 years ago and so much has happened since then. I am excited to move on the next chapter in our lives but VERY sad to leave everything here in Texas...especially friends. Here are few highlights of the past few years.

We found out we were having our first child!

Jack's little best friend, Mackenzie. He is really going to miss "KenziePoo" as he calls her:)
We had our first (and probably not last) broken bone

We added another precious boy to our family!

Erik started a new job as a VP wealth manager in OKC exactly one week after Jacob was born and I had the boys by myself for 5 weeks.

To be continued from Oklahoma........

10-5

Thank the Lord for a baby that sleeps! I don't think I could make it all week by myself if Jacob was up all night. I never thought he'd get to this point because he loves to eat so much more than Jack ever did but this week he started sleeping from 10pm to 5am!
