My sweet baby Jacob has struggled with allergies and ezcema pretty much since birth. I have done all I know to do as far as getting a HEPA vacuum, keeping windows closed, low humidity in our house, washing his sheets/blankets every few days, and spraying my house with an anti-allergen spray that kills pollen and dust. We have his seasonal allergies under control with Singulair but lately he's been getting pretty terrible skin rashes. I finally took him to an allergist to get some answers. My sweet, sensitive boy did great thoughout the 4.5 hour appointment and we finally got a few answers. He reacted to wheat, dust, and oat so Dr. T told me that Aveeno products are oat based so basically we've been bathing/lotioning our child in something he's allergic to! WHAAA??? Well, that explained so much. She told us to add daily Zyrtec to his Singulair and studies in Europe show this actually will help prevent the onset of asthma. We are praying he doesn't have asthma but that is TBD. We added the zyrtec and switched him to all Cetaphil products. His skin cleared up within 2 days and he hasn't had any congestion from allergies yet which is a miracle because this Oklahoma wind is BLOWING. Thanking the Lord we got some answers that will hopefully help us keep sweet Jacob healthy.
Happy boy after his appointment.

The allergy testing is NO fun. But Jacob was a champ and stayed still the entire time!

They tested him for over 20 things so that is what all those pricks are:(

Poor Jacob! BUT I am so glad they were able to help you out... it gives me hopes for our appt with an allergist next Friday! Justin and I have both done the back prick thing and aren't super excited about having to watch Caden go through it, BUT like you said... we need answers!! We are battling chronic sinus infections because of his allergies! :( AND we live outside... So glad he is doing better!!
What a trooper! Glad you got some good answers and yes, hopefully this will help the little guy out!
