Busy week

We didn't waste any time jumping back into the swing of things after we got back from Scottsdale. Jack started soccer (although his first game was canceled because of 'cold weather'), the boys had their first dental check ups, Erik started school again (he will be done with his MBA in JUNE), and we hired someone to do some home updates so that we can enjoy them a little bit before we put our house on the market (whenever that will be)!!!!

Erik came home from work with this...his name spelled correctly on his favorite kind of red wine. It's the little things:) haha.

Jack did AMAZING at the dentist...Jacob was a total different story:/
Erik told me was going to start P90X (he hasn't worked out AT ALL since I've known him)...so before he starts his 'workout routine and diet' I made a good unhealthy meal for him:) Paula Deen's meatloaf and Cottage potatoes.

The boys had their spring pictures at school.

We have been playing with Gage a lot and the boys LOVE him!!! He has a new baby sister who is PRECIOUS...we have to keep the boys far far away from her:)
Jack was so excited to look like dad for church on Sunday with his tie.

Little soccer player in his shin guards and cleats!

Incredible Getaway

After a long weekend at the Hyatt Regency Resort at Gainey Ranch in Scottsdale, AZ all I can say is WOW. This place was perfect for Erik and I to relax, enjoy great food, great weather, and each other. This resort is perfect for families, couples, girls weekends, guys golf weekends, etc... it offered something for everyone. 3 great restaurants, 3 golf courses, 2.5 acre water playground that is kept at 85 degrees year round, live music in the evenings, fire pits and outdoor heaters all over the property, and last but not least----the best Spa experience we've ever had. We are already planning a time when we can take the boys back. They would LOVE it.

Erik took a final on Thursday night before we left so he was tired and ready to relax!!!
ahh....

Of course we are in Arizona and we still somehow land at Grimaldi's:) Our favorite pizza place in Texas.
We never got used to these amazing views...so beautiful.

Sunday brunch was by far the best sunday brunch we've ever experienced.

One of the adult pools ... we were usually some of the first people out:)

The spa had a coed area with a private mineral pool kept at 88 degrees...so relaxing.

The view from our balcony. We immediately opened our patio doors each morning.
Getting our morning coffee

They had gondola rides on the property and of course we took one. Our gondolier sang a beautiful song in italian:)
Looking at the golf club and one of the courses.

So sad to leave.
Do we have to go?

Our Valentine's festivities

We had a FUN few days celebrating Valentine's Day this year. Erik had class on Valentine's Day so we celebrated as a family by going out to dinner on Saturday night. The boys' parties at school were postponed to Tuesday after Vday because of the weather. Erik and I will have to wait and celebrate Valentine's Day together when we head to Scottsdale next weekend because he so busy with school right now.

checking out their treats for their friends
Jack and his AWESOME AWESOME teacher, Miss Kristin:)

Checking out their gifts on Vday morning:)

And now the candy/cookies/sugar must go....my boys may never go to bed tonight....SUGAR HIGH:)

Snoklahoma

After having a major winter storm come through OKC 2 weeks in a row we are officially 'wintered out'. The kids in Edmond haven't been to school for 7 of the last 10 school days and the boys have only had MDO one time in the last 2 weeks. Erik has had to take Celebrex because of how sore he is from shoveling snow:) He shovels our driveway as well as a few of our neighbors and it's hard work! FINALLY the snow is beginning to melt of the streets today. I'm hoping maybe by Sunday I will FINALLY have sidewalks to run on outside! We were homebound last Tuesday-Saturday and this week we weren't able to leave the house Tuesday-Friday. Pretty miserable. The boys HATE this type of winter and Jack even refuses to go outside if there is snow on the ground. He told me "Mom, I like sand not snow"...me too, son, me too!!! We need vitamin D...ASAP...

shoveling, again.
Jacob braved the snow with dad for a few minutes. He got a little frostbite on his cheek and forehead:(

What our house has looked like for a couple weeks. Pardon Erik's bending over to help Jacob:)

Of course I've been cooking A LOT since there's not a whole lot else to do. One night I made PW's pasta with tomato cream sauce and it was excellent and comforting served with a creamy caesar salad and bread.
Their one day of MDO was "pink day"...Jacob's hair is a little wild but I love the curls:)
My wavy haired eater!
I made Jack come out to take a picture with all the snow...I think we got 10 or 12 inches 2 days before this picture was taken last week.

Baggies

I got the MiniBoden catalogue in the mail a few weeks ago and I am obsessed with the little boy cropped baggies. I have a feeling this will be a staple in my boys wardrobe year-round. They are ADORABLE and super comfortable. Jack wakes up everyday asking to wear his 'baggies' :) You can find them HERE.

Jack in his first pair of baggies. It was a snow day so I let him dress himself:)

I have this color ordered as well as a gray pair for both my boys:)
